JAMIA SHAMSUL HODA AS SALFIA (TRUST)JAMIA AT A GLANCE
The Jamia Shamsul Hoda as Salfia (Trust) erstwhile Madrasa Shamsul Hoda came into existence at the initiative and instruction of the Wahabi movement centre of Sadiquepur, Azimabad, Patna to Ibrahim Mandal of Islampur, who was an activist as well as head of the Wahabi movement in eastern region, the them greater Bengal of India and fought against British rule for the freedom of the country. He faced treason case known as Moqadama Rajmahal and was imprisoned for life and his properties confiscated. However, he was released on the ground of health after about 8 years of jail from Alipur jail, KolKata. Thereafter being released from jail, he along with Moulana Ahmadullah and other Villages established the Madrasa Shamsul Hoda at Dilalpur, in the year 1294 H. corresponding to 1877 and as such this is one of the oldest Arabic educational Institution in the eastern region of India.
Ever since, the Madrasa came into Existence, it is imparting Islamic education faith and culture to the people living in this educationally and economically backward region of the country. The education is given to students basically in Arabic to enhance the qualify and ability to understand Quraan, Hadis and other Islamic books in Arabic and further realizing the need of Modern education, in it’s syllabus some modern Subjects like Mathematics, Science, English and Hindi etc. have been included. The courses of Jamia is from Primary to Master degree.
The Jamia is a residential one in nature and hence all the students, boys and girls about 1292 live in the hostel of the Jamia’s campus and they are provided food free of cost and even no seat rent is realized.
This is unique and unfortunate that no student pays any amount against his fooding cost to the Jamia, because the persons whose wards are admitted in the Jamia are of the impression that there is a Mess of Allah in the Jamia which is run by the contribution of their own. They love the Madrasa immensely and contribute liberally like any thing. So, there is no wrong to get free fooding for their wards. Just this is their mindset which could not be removed or diminished from their mind inspite of the efforts made by Governing body, administration of the Jamia.
To promote qualify and good education a team of 40 efficient and hard working teachers are employed and 11 staff are in service of the Jamia.
The Jamia is run by the Trust’s Governing body very smoothly and it’s affairs and works are maintained with transparency and probity.
The Jamia at present faces acute problem to accommodate 1292 girls & boys students.
To provide just minimum accommodation to the girls students particularly, Jamia is highly in need of a building as early as possible.
It is to be noted that the Jamia hitherto received no financial assistance from the government and it depends fully on public contributions and donations to meet it’s all kind of expenses.
In this present time of high inflation the Jamia’s construction or other developmental works suffer from financial constrain. Hence, hereby humbly, an appeal is made to the people particularly Muslim Philanthropists, donors and other benevolent persons to contribute generously to the Jamia. May Allah bless them.
